What is a Noun?

There's not much going on today. Today we learned about nouns and before we started the lesson we did a pre-test first to check whether we know what a noun is. We did it and it really caught me by surprise when almost all of us got it wrong. I'm lucky enough to get one correct. It shows that we really didn't know anything about it. So we had the lesson about it and this is what i've learned today:

*A noun is a word used to name a person, animal, place, thing and abstract idea.

*Types of nouns:
~COMMON NOUNSis a noun referring to a person, place, or thing in a general sense

~PROPER NOUNS : is a noun referring to a specific person, place, or thing

~COUNTABLE NOUNS : a noun with both a singular and a plural form, and it names anything that you can count

~UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS :a noun which does not have a plural form, and which refers to something that you could not usually count

~UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS :a noun which does not have a plural form, and which refers to something that you could not usually count

~POSSESSIVE NOUNS :a noun changes its form to show that it owns or is closely related to something else

~COLLECTIVE NOUNS : a noun naming a group of things, animals, or persons

These are all the things that i've learned about nouns. After learning this i was able to differentiate every types of nouns.
